12/15/09 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL - Women's Basketball Defeats Queens Behind Strong First Half

FLUSHING, N.Y. -- Felician College took a 38-20 halftime lead en route to a 69-59 non-conference women's basketball victory over host Queens (N.Y.) College on Tuesday night at Fitzgerald Gymnasium. Felician has won four consecutive games.

The Golden Falcons (4-2) held Queens to 27 percent shooting from the floor, including 17 percent in the opening period. Junior Quay Baskerville (Hartford, CT) ( 4-7 3FG) led four Felician scorers in double figures with 18 points and six rebounds. Janelle Biamonte (Secaucus, NJ) posted 17 points and seven boards, Destiny Barnette (Paterson, NJ) added a season-high 12 points, and Tierra Cleaves (Paterson, NJ) chipped in with 11.

12/10/09 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL - Baskerville Leads Women's Basketball Past Post, 69-43

BASKERVILLE
RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Junior forward Quay Baskerville (Hartford, CT/Bulkeley) scored 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Felician College to a 69-43 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division women’s basketball victory over visiting Post University on Tuesday evening at Job Gymnasium.

Felician (3-2, 2-0) shot 25 percent from the field in the first half, but went into the locker room trailing by only two points, 25-23. The Golden Falcons then took control by beginning the second period with a 26-6 run over the first 10 ˝ minutes. Felician, which led by as many as 31 points, out-shot the Eagles, 61-20 percent for the half and outscored them, 46-18.

12/8/09 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL - Women's Basketball Gets By Concordia In CACC Lid-Lifter

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- The Felician College women's basketball team ended a 13-day layoff with a 66-62 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division victory over host Concordia (N.Y.) College on Tuesday evening at Meyer Athletic Center. The contest was the first conference game of the season for both schools.

Senior Janelle Biamonte (Secaucus, NJ) recorded 19 points and 13 rebounds for Felician (2-2, 1-0), which went 7 for 8 at the foul line in the game's final minute to preserve the victory. After the Golden Falcons took their largest lead of the second half, 57-50, on a Biamonte bucket with three minutes, 17 seconds, to play, Concordia scored eight of the next 10 points to pull within 59-58 at the 1:02 mark. On its next possession, Felician ran the shot clock down before Quay Baskerville (Hartford, CT) made the first of two free throws. Teammate Destiny Barnette (Paterson, NJ) rebounded Baskerville's second-shot miss, was fouled, and canned both shots for a four-point advantage and 30 seconds remaining.

12/2/09 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL - Women's Basketball Team Completes Second Community Service Project

The Felician women's basketball team sponsored a food drive entitled "Shoot For Hunger Night" at their home opener on Nov. 24. The Golden Falcons solicited donations of non-perishable food items from fans in attendance. When the food was delivered to St. John's Soup Kitchen in Newark last week, the team completed its second community service initiative of the semester.
