1/13/10 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL - Wyke Helps Women's Basketball Pull Away From Saint Anselm

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Freshman guard Renelle Wyke (Charlotte, NC/Victory Christian) scored a season-high 14 points as the Felician College women’s basketball team earned a 63-50 non-conference victory over visiting Saint Anselm College on Wednesday evening at Job Gymnasium.

Wyke shot 5 for 7 from the floor, including 4 of 6 from three-point range, in 17 minutes off the bench. She scored five points during a 14-0 Felician run which turned a one-point deficit into a 46-33 Felician lead with 11 minutes, 17 seconds, remaining in the contest. Felician junior Quay Baskerville (Hartford, CT/Bulkeley) (five assists) also scored 14 points and senior Janelle Biamonte (Secaucus, NJ/Marist) added 13.

PHILADELPHIA -- Felician College enjoyed its most prolific offensive performance in six years in its 95-61 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference interdivisional women's basketball victory over host Philadelphia University on Saturday afternoon at the Gallagher Center. Junior forward Quay Baskerville (Hartford, CT) topped the Golden Falcons with 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Felician (8-3, 3-1), which never trailed, scored the game's first 16 points, including eight by Janelle Biamonte (Secaucus, NJ). The Golden Falcons went ahead, 21-2, with just over seven minutes gone by, and 50-25 at halftime. The lead grew as large as 40 points late in the second half. Felician shot 59 percent from the field for the game and held the Lady Rams to 29-percent shooting. The Golden Falcons also made 11 of 17 three-point attempts (65 percent), including 5 of 9 by Biamonte.
