1/9/10 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL - Offense Explodes As Golden Falcons Down Lady Rams, 95-61

PHILADELPHIA -- Felician College enjoyed its most prolific offensive performance in six years in its 95-61 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference interdivisional women's basketball victory over host Philadelphia University on Saturday afternoon at the Gallagher Center. Junior forward Quay Baskerville (Hartford, CT) topped the Golden Falcons with 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Felician (8-3, 3-1), which never trailed, scored the game's first 16 points, including eight by Janelle Biamonte (Secaucus, NJ). The Golden Falcons went ahead, 21-2, with just over seven minutes gone by, and 50-25 at halftime. The lead grew as large as 40 points late in the second half. Felician shot 59 percent from the field for the game and held the Lady Rams to 29-percent shooting. The Golden Falcons also made 11 of 17 three-point attempts (65 percent), including 5 of 9 by Biamonte.

CALDWELL N.J. -- Felician College had its seven-game winning streak in women's basketball ended on Tuesday evening with a 63-57 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division loss to host Caldwell College on Thursday evening at the Newman Center.

1/7/10 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL - Biamonte Selected CACC Student-Athlete Of The Month

NEW HAVEN, Conn.Janelle Biamonte of Felician College has been selected the December Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Student-Athlete of the Month, announced CACC Commissioner Dan Mara. Biamonte is a senior Elementary Education/English major at Felician and a member of the women’s basketball team.

The CACC Student-Athlete of the Month Award is in its first year of existence. It is designed to honor a conference athlete active in that month who displays excellence in athletics, academics, and citizenship. Biamonte is the award's fourth recipient, and the first in the sport of basketball.

12/29/09 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL - Felician Ties School Record With Seventh Consecutive Win

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Felician College women’s basketball team won the Pace University Holiday Classic, capping a 2-0 performance in the event with a 55-52 non-conference victory over the host Setters on Tuesday evening at the Goldstein Center. Felician (7-2) tied a school record with its seventh consecutive victory, and snapped Pace’s seven-game winning streak.

Graduate student Taisha Hylor (Brooklyn, NY) came off the bench to provide 14 points and eight rebounds in 21 minutes for the Golden Falcons. Tournament Most Valuable Player Janelle Biamonte (Secaucus, NJ) recorded 13 points and a game-high 10 boards, and Quay Baskerville (Hartford, CT) was selected to the all-tournament team following an 11-point, nine-rebound performance. Felician held the Setters (8-3) to 30-percent shooting for the game and owned a 49-39 rebounding advantage.
