RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College senior Janelle Biamonte of Secaucus has been voted to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Women’s Basketball First Team for the College Division in District II, as coordinated and selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Biamonte won the same award in 2009, and is the first two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree in any sport in Felician history. As a First Team selection, she advances to the national Academic All-America ballot. Biamonte carries a 3.99 cumulative grade-point average as a double-major in elementary education and English. She is in her third year at Felician after transferring from Montclair State University. |

 BASKERVILLE WATERBURY, Conn. – Senior Janelle Biamonte (Secaucus, NJ) and junior Quay Baskerville (Hartford, CT) each picked up double-doubles as the Felician College women’s basketball team defeated host Post University, 69-54, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division action Thursday evening at the Drubner Center.
Felician (11-6, 5-4 CACC), which never trailed, received a strong team defensive effort. The Golden Falcons held post to 28-percent shooting from the floor, including 11-percent (2 for 19) from three-point range. Felician forced 20 turnovers and blocked seven Eagle shots. The Golden Falcons jumped out to an early 17-7 lead, and were ahead by as many as 18 points in the opening period before settling for a 41-26 halftime lead. Post could only cut its deficit as low as 10 points in the second half. |

 BARNETTE RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College closed the first half with a 20-3 run, keying its 72-63 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division women’s basketball victory over visiting Nyack College on Tuesday evening at Job Gymnasium.
Senior Janelle Biamonte (Secaucus, NJ) led Felician (10-6, 4-4 CACC) with 14 points. Junior guard Destiny Barnette (Paterson, NJ) posted a season-high 13 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, and backcourt-mate Tierra Cleaves (Paterson, NJ) added 13 points and five assists. The Golden Falcons held Nyack to 33-percent shooting from the floor and forced 25 Warrior turnovers. |
