1/22/09 MEN'S BASKETBALL - Fegins Shots Carry Felician To Overtime Win

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – A free throw by senior guard Richard Fegins (Linden, NJ/St. Mary’s-Elizabeth) with one-half second left in overtime gave Felician College an 87-86 non-conference victory over visiting Southern Connecticut State University on Thursday night at Job Gymnasium. Fegins had made a game-tying three-point field goal on his team’s previous possession.

With the scored tied, 86-86, and the clock winding down, Southern Connecticut State (1-17) missed on two winning shot attempts. Fegins grabbed the defensive rebound, turned, and was fouled as he tried a three-quarter court heave. He made the first free throw and missed the second, but the Owls were out of timeouts and were left with a desperation toss. Felician (9-8) used three-pointers from Devon Young (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) and Fegins to recover from a five-point deficit in the final two minutes.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Despite double-doubles from forwards Ethan Kennedy (Albuquerque, NM) and Andrew August (Bridgewater, NJ), the Felician College men's basketball team lost a Martin Luther King Day matinee to host Le Moyne College, 71-64, in non-conference action on Ted Grant Court.

1/13/09 MEN'S BASKETBALL - Men Finish Strong To Down Nyack, 82-75

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Felician College men’s basketball team outscored visiting Nyack College, 23-11, over the final six minutes, 45 seconds, of its 82-75 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division victory over the Warriors on Tuesday night at Job Gymnasium. Freshman Andrew August (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) topped four double-figure scorers for Felician with 18 points.

With Nyack ahead, 64-59, and 6:45 to play in regulation, the Golden Falcons (8-7, 2-4) embarked on a game-changing 13-1 run that spanned the next four minutes. Sophomore swingman Devon Young (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) scored seven of his 16 points in that stretch, including a three-point play at the 5:24 mark which put his team ahead to stay. Trailing by seven, the Warriors came as close as 74-70 with 1:31 to go, but were held scoreless on their next three possessions.
