OBERY RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Felician College men’s basketball team received 17 points, 19 rebounds and six assists from sophomore guard Antoine Obery (Roselle, NJ/Abraham Clark) in its 80-77 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division victory over visiting Post University on Thursday night at Job Gymnasium.
Felician (7-0, 2-0) led by as many as 11 points in the second half, and was still ahead by eight with five minutes, 11 seconds to play. But Post chipped away, and a three-point field goal by freshman Nyheem Sanders (Pawtucket, RI/St. Andrews) at the 0:42 mark brought the Eagles to within 78-77. After an empty possession for each team, Felician’s Ethan Kennedy (Albuquerque, NM/Highland) hit teammate Devon Young (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) in stride with a baseball pass for a lay-up with under 11 ticks remaining. Post’s contested tying three-point attempt at the buzzer missed off the front rim from the left side. |
