NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Devon Young of Felician College has claimed the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) February Student-Athlete of the Month award, according to an announcement made by Commissioner Dan Mara. Young is a junior guard/forward on the Golden Falcon men’s basketball team.
The CACC Student-Athlete of the Month Award is in its first year of existence. It is designed to honor a conference athlete active in that month who displays excellence in athletics, academics, and citizenship. Young is the award's sixth recipient, second from Felician, and the first-ever male winner. |

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Felician College men’s basketball team, the 2010 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference champion, will participate in the program’s first NCAA Division II Tournament game on Saturday, March 13, at 6 p.m. Felician will travel to Easton, Mass., to play against Stonehill College, the host of the East Regional Championship, at Stonehill’s Merkert Gymnasium.
Felician (24-6) earned the CACC’s automatic qualifier to the East Regional, and was assigned the No. 8 seed in the event by the Division II Men’s Basketball Committee. The Golden Falcons have set a school record for victories and captured the CACC Tournament crown for the first time. Stonehill (23-5), the Regional’s top seed and the No. 16-ranked team in Division II, earned an at-large berth out of the Northeast-10 Conference. |

CALDWELL, N.J. -- Felician College junior Devon Young (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2010 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's basketball tournament following the conclusion of the event on Saturday evening at Caldwell College. Teammates Antoine Obery (Roselle, NJ/Abraham Clark) and Suquan Gary (Paterson, NJ/PCTI) were also chosen for the all-tournament team by league officials.
Felician (24-6) won the tournament championship with an 84-79 title game victory over Goldey-Beacom College on Saturday. To reach the final, the Golden Falcons defeated Dominican (N.Y.) College 69-58, at home on March 1, and Philadelphia University, 90-77, in overtime at Caldwell on Friday. Felician, which captured its first conference crown, earned the CACC's automatic qualifier into next weekend's NCAA Division II East Regional. |
