RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College freshman Devon Young of Monmouth Junction has been voted to the Men’s Division II Second Team of the 2008 Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) awards program, according to balloting released today. The voting was conducted by the Division II coaches in the New York tri-state area.
Young, a 6-foot-3 forward, led Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference freshmen in scoring and finished fifth overall with 16.8 points per game. He also averaged 5.6 rebounds in being named the conference Rookie of the Year. He scored in double figures in 24 of 27 games, including 20 or more points on nine occasions, for the 10-17 Golden Falcons, and registered four double-doubles. A 2007 graduate of South Brunswick High, Young was a two-time MBWA Weekly Honor Roll selection during the season. |

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. -- Felician's Devon Young (Monmouth Junction, NJ) capped his CACC Rookie of the Year season with 26 points and 11 rebounds, but the Golden Falcons lost to host Bloomfield College, 93-85, in CACC North men's basketball action Wednesday night at BC Gym. It was the final game of the 2007-08 season for Felician, which posted an overall won-lost record of 10-17. |

YOUNG RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College freshman Devon Young of Monmouth Junction has been named the 2008 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Year, according to balloting released today. Felician senior Jason Romer of New York City was voted to the All-CACC Third Team.
Young, a 6-foot-3 forward, leads CACC freshmen in scoring and is seventh overall with 16.5 points per game, while also averaging 5.3 rebounds. He was named the conference Rookie of the Week five times. He has scored in double figures in 23 of 26 games, including 20 or more points on eight occasions. Young is a 2007 graduate of South Brunswick High. |
