RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Recent high-school graduate Owen Barnes of Teaneck has signed a national letter of intent to continue his basketball career at Felician College, Golden Falcon head men’s coach David DeFerrari announced today. Additionally, DeFerrari disclosed that transfer students Jimmy Schmitt of Elmwood Park and John Tello of Ridgefield Park have inked athletic financial aid agreements for men’s basketball at Felician. |

Devon Young (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) of Felician College has claimed the 2009-10 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Sportsmanship Award, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Young will now be a candidate for the NCAA 2009-10 Student-Athlete Sportsmanship Award. Young is a rising senior on the Felician men’s basketball team.
“If you speak with Devon for just a short time, you know you are dealing with an outstanding student-athlete,” said Mara. “I’m happy that someone with Devon’s character will be the conference’s representative for the NCAA Student-Athlete Sportsmanship Award. He represents who a student-athlete should strive to be and I look forward to seeing him during his senior year.” |

 Ethan Kennedy has signed a contract to play professional basketball in Australia. RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College senior Ethan Kennedy (Albuquerque, NM/Highland) has signed a contract to play professional basketball in Australia. Kennedy will be a member of the Uni Rebels of the Darwin Basketball Association.
The 6-foot-7, 225-pound Kennedy played two seasons for NCAA Division-II Felician after transferring from Division I Coppin-State University. He averaged 10.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per game as a Golden Falcon, and canned 68 three-point field goals while playing mostly power-forward and center. Felician won the 2010 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference championship. |

 DeFERRARI RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College head men’s basketball coach David DeFerrari of Secaucus has been named the All-Met Division II Men’s Coach of the Year, the National Invitation Tournament and the Met Basketball Writers Association announced on Wednesday.
Felician also put two players on the All-Met Teams – junior swingman Devon Young (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunwsick) on the first team and sophomore guard Antoine Obery (Roselle, NJ/Abraham Clark) on the second team. New York metropolitan-area head coaches voted on the award winners. |
