SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- The Felician College women's soccer team lost to host American International College, 4-0, during the AIC Classic on Thursday afternoon at John Homer Miller Field. The game was the season opener for both schools, and the first Felician athletic event of the 2009-10 season.

8/24/09 WOMEN'S SOCCER - 2009 Outlook: Felician Will No Longer Surprise Opponents

In Thomas Notte’s first year as the head women’s soccer coach at Felician College last season, the Golden Falcons improved their won-lost-tied record by five victories, and secured the program’s first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament berth in four years.

With that success came more attention from the league’s head coaches. Chosen to finish ninth in the 2008 CACC preseason coaches poll, the Golden Falcons have been selected for fifth place this year in the 13-team conference. So while the Golden Falcons are more of a known commodity in 2009, Notte feels his team is ready for the challenge.

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Anna Petersen of Newton has transferred to Felician College and signed an athletic financial aid agreement to continue her women’s soccer career for the Golden Falcons, Felician head coach Thomas Notte announced today.
