9/26/09 WOMEN'S SOCCER - Indri Tiebreaker Spurs Women's Soccer Past GBC

RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- A tiebreaking goal by freshman Cassie Indri (Lyndhurst, NJ/Lyndhurst) in the 65th minute lifted the Felician College women's soccer team to a 4-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over visiting Goldey-Beacom College on Saturday evening at Memorial Park.

With the match knotted, 1-1, Indri collected a deflection off of a Goldey-Beacom defender in front of the net and put a 12-yard shot inside the left goalpost. Felician (4-4, 3-2) then took full control when Derienne Jacobowitz (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic) scored on a header nearly six minutes later.

9/23/09 WOMEN'S SOCCER - Petersen Corner Kicks Help Seal Victory

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Corner kicks by Felician College junior midfielder Anna Petersen (Newton, NJ/Newton) led to her team’s final two goals, sealing the Golden Falcons’ 3-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women’s soccer victory over visiting Post University on Wednesday night at Tryon Field.

Offensive chances were scarce in a scoreless first half, as the teams combined for just eight shots. Felician (3-4, 2-2) broke through on the scoreboard in the 60th minute, when defender Amanda Mottola (Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus) played a long ball ahead to Derienne Jacobowitz (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic). After letting the ball bounce, Jacobowitz knocked a 30 yard shot over the goalkeeper and into the net.
