RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Senior Quincy Small (Linden, Guyana/MacKenzie) produced his second hat trick of the season and junior goalkeeper Jason Smith (Gibbstown, NJ/GCIT) made 11 saves as the Felician College men’s soccer team defeated visiting Saint Thomas Aquinas College, 3-1, in non-conference action Monday night at Tryon Field.

After the match went to halftime tied, 1-1, Small scored the eventual game-winner six minutes, 38 seconds, into period two. He collected a long pass from defender Chris Giordano (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter’s Boys) and blasted a 20-yard shot from the left side into the lower right corner of the net. He later secured the victory by knocking home a loose ball with 2:09 remaining in regulation.

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Assumption College scored three goals in a 24-minute span of the second half to earn a 3-0 non-conference men’s soccer victory over host Felician College on Saturday afternoon at Tryon Field. The game was Felician’s 2009 home opener.

8/29/09 MEN'S SOCCER - Small's Hat Trick Lifts Men Over Saint Rose, 3-1

EASTON, Mass. -- Senior forward Quincy Small (Linden, Guyana) scored three first-half goals to lead the Felician College men's soccer team to a 3-1 non-conference victory over the College of Saint Rose during Day 2 of the Skyhawks Kickoff Classic, hosted by Stonehill College on a rainy Saturday morning at W.B. Mason Stadium.

Small opened the scoring eight minutes, 32 seconds, into the contest, heading a cross from Carlos Canido (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) inside the right post. He struck again on a drive from the right side in the 18th minute, and got free 1-v.1 with the goalkeeper and converted at 31:51 for a 3-0 Golden Falcon halftime lead. Felician improved to 1-1 on the young season.
