10/25/08 WOMEN'S CROSS-COUNTRY - Root Makes All-CACC Team; Felician Third

Sarah Root earned her second All-CACC honor on Oct. 25
PHILADELPHIA – Felician College sophomore Sarah Root (Aberdeen, NJ/Old Bridge) attained all-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference status at the ninth CACC Women’s Cross-Country Championship, co-hosted by the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and Philadelphia University on Saturday afternoon at Belmont Plateau inside Fairmount Park. Felician finished third in the team standings.

By CACC rules, the first 15 finishers in the race were automatically named all-conference. Amid a steady rain, Root completed the 5,000-meter (3.1-mile) course in 20 minutes, 45 seconds, good for seventh place out of 80 competitors. It was her second all-conference performance in as many years.

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College freshman Carlos Canido of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week, the CACC announced today. Additionally, the conference selected Felician freshman Meghan Corless of Middletown as Women’s Cross-Country Rookie of the Week.
