 ROSE LYNDHURST, N.J. – Junior John Rose (Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Pleasant Boro) struck out six batters in three hitless innings for his first career save to preserve Felician College’s 5-4 Game 2 victory over visiting Concordia (N.Y.) College and a split of the teams’ Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference baseball doubleheader amidst near-freezing temperatures Saturday evening at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex. Concordia won the opener, 3-2, in 10 innings.
In the nightcap, Rose entered with the tying run on second base and none out in the top of the seventh inning. One out later, a batter reached on an error. Rose escaped the jam on two groundouts and pitched a perfect eighth and ninth. Golden Falcon starter Danny Conti (Aberdeen, NJ/Matawan Regional) (2-3) went six innings, allowing four hits with six strikeouts and three walks. |

 JIMENEZ LYNDHURST, N.J. – Felician College junior pitcher Kristina Jimenez (West Milford, NJ/West Milford) induced a groundout on a 3-and-2 count with the bases loaded to save her team’s 3-2 victory over the visiting University of the Sciences in Philadelphia in Game 2 of the teams’ Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference softball doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Matera Field. USP won the opening game, 10-3.
In the nightcap, Jimenez was summoned with Felician ahead, 3-2, two runners on base, and one out in the top of the seventh inning. She recorded a groundout and issued a walk before the high-drama final out and her first save of the season. Grace Keller (Hoboken, NJ/Holy Family Academy) (3-1) earned the win with 2 2/3 innings of relief work, allowing one run on four hits. |

NYACK, N.Y. -- Chris Fogleman (Waxhaw, NC) went 3 for 5 and Marcos Torres (Miami, FL) and Victor Monteagudo (West Palm Beach, FL) hit back-to-back home runs as Felician College defeated host Nyack College, 10-1, in non-conference baseball action Thursday night at Nyack High School.
Junior right-hander Joel Sanchez (Hialeah, FL) (2-0) pitched six strong innings for the Golden Falcons (11-13). Sanchez allowed one run on six hits (all singles), struck out three batters, and walked three. |
