KENNEDY RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Felician College men’s basketball team started the overtime period with a 6-1 run and hung on for an 89-84 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division victory over visiting Concordia (N.Y.) College on Tuesday night at Job Gymnasium. Led by senior Ethan Kennedy’s (Albuquerque, NM/Highland) 21 points on Senior Night, Felician (20-6, 13-4) reached the 20-victory plateau for the first time in the 14-year history of its program.
Concordia trailed, 39-30, at halftime and by as many as 10 points in the early stages of the second half before knotting the game, 45-45, with 13 minutes, 44 seconds to play in regulation. In order to force overtime, the Clippers came back again, erasing an eight-point deficit in the final 4:33, capped by a Brandon Whitaker (Harlem, NY) three-point field goal at the 0:03.4 mark. But Felician never trailed in the extra session. After Concordia cut a five-point deficit to one, Felician’s Ryan Moseley (Teaneck, NJ/Teaneck) nailed a three-pointer with 1:19 to play, and the Golden Falcons converted 7 of 8 free-throw attempts in the final 30 seconds. |
