MOSELEY RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Junior Ryan Moseley’s (Teaneck, NJ/Teaneck) tie-breaking three-point field goal with one minute, three seconds, to play in regulation keyed Felician College’s 71-69 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference interdivisional men’s basketball victory over visiting Chestnut Hill College on Thursday night at Job Gymnasium. Felician broke the school record for victories with its 19th.
In a game which contained 13 ties and 13 lead changes, Felician (19-5, 12-3) built a seven-point lead with 26 seconds to play on five consecutive points from Moseley and two Andrew August (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) free throws, then nearly saw it slip away. Chesnut Hill’s Larz Jeter (Philadelphia, PA/Parkway) nailed a three-pointer, Felician turned the ball over in the backcourt, and with just over 10 seconds to go, Mark DeRugeris (Woodbury, NJ/Woodbury) made another three. After one Felician free throw, Julian McFadden’s (Philadelphia, PA/Chestnut Hill Academy) potential tying jumper from the right side rattled around the rim and came out as time expired. |
